Synopsis

The production of Thriller Live has changed a lot since it first opened at the Lyric Theatre in January 2011. After all, back then the King of Pop Michael Jackson was still alive and as a result was very much celebrating his life so far. But as he died half way through the year it would eventually be re-jigged as a celebration of his whole life, the perfect place for Jackson fans to relive the memories and to experience the closest to a live Michael Jackson concert as possible. Featuring some of the best songs of his back catalogue – both as a solo artist and as part of the Jackson 5 – plus some spectacular stage performances, Thriller Live is an unmissable West End treat.

The glorious musical celebration incorporates a vast number of songs from Jackson’s career and the result is a show that chronicles his childhood right up to his adult life, from the Jackson 5 to glorious solo hits. After all, Jackson was one of the most famous men in music and left behind an enormous legacy after his death – one that no future star can ever hope to match. To this day he still holds the record for the highest selling album of all time – with 1982’s Thriller going on to sell around a hundred million units during its run. Then there is the video, directed by John Landis, which reinterpreted the rules surrounding the music video world and would inspire further classics down the line.

So with Thriller Live audiences strap in to hear some great renditions of his work, which includes Dirty Diana, ABC, Billie Jean, Beat It, Can You Feel It, I Want You Back, She’s Out of My Life and, of course, the enormously famous Thriller, amongst many more. So it is the perfect West End show for any Michael Jackson fan looking for some great memories.

Jackson’s legacy will live on well into the future and whilst he never got to perform his This Is It run at the O2 Arena, Thriller Live continues to provide a place to witness some of his best songs. The Lyric Theatre became a place of pilgrimage for fans after his death and to honour his work a permanent memorial is now found in the foyer.

Thriller Live continues its run at the Lyric Theatre and is booking deep into 2011.
