Crazy For You

Synopsis

Last year, audiences picked up theatre tickets for the production of “Crazy for You” when it appeared at the Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park, providing a well-received musical for London theatre audiences during the summer months. Now the show makes its way to the West End to give audiences another chance to witness the memorable adventure embarked upon by Bobby Childs. The show runs at the Novello Theatre from October 2011 with a run that takes it to July 2012 and in that time it is likely to be a popular production for fans of high quality musicals.

The show dates back to 1992 when it was advertised as the new Gershwin musical (it was adapted from the 1930s Gershwin musical “Girl Crazy”) and it would prove to be a huge success both on Broadway and in the West End, picking up numerous awards along the way. So its return to the stage in the new decade was a certainty and it is unlikely to be the last time we see the show either.

The plot focuses on Bobby Childs and his ambitions of becoming a dancer on the stage. It is a musical about following one’s dreams but it is also about love as he embarks on an adventurous romance as well. Along the way songs include “Embraceable You” and “I’ve Got Rhythm”.

“Crazy For You” appears at the Novello Theatre from Saturday 8th October 2011 until Saturday 28th July 2012.
